Children's Book Writing Workshop

Purpose of the Program:

The writing workshop is the place where experience is transferred. Based on my own experiences, the writer, editor, writer coach conveys this to the participant in its simplest form, because he knows that dreams can reach people to the extent that they can be expressed in sentences.

Children's Book Writing Workshop is different from other writing workshops. The purpose of children's stories is; The goal should be to develop the imagination of the reader, that is, children, in a correct and healthy way. In sentences he can understand; It is important to convey what is wanted to be said accurately, without boring the child.

This program is a program that can be attended not only by those who want to write children's books, but also by those who are wondering how to choose the right children's book.

The workshop was held by writer, writer coach, editor and writing workshop instructor Yasemin Erbek and Bursa Uludağ University Department of Philosophy faculty member Prof. Dr. Edited by A. Kadir Çüçen.

As an author, Yasemin Erbek has three published novels, a compilation and a children's book called Cloud Load. He has also worked as an editor, writer coach and proofreader of over a hundred books.

Prof. Dr. A. Kadir Çüçen is the coordinator of the Philosophy for Children (P4C) certificate program and specializes in contemporary philosophy and has numerous publications.

Program Details:

3 week Children's Book Writing Workshop. We improve our story writing skills for preschool and school children through workshops held two days a week.

At the end of the workshop, participants are entitled to receive the "Children's Book Writing Course Completion Certificate".

A certificate is issued for participation of 80% or more of the total training period. No documents will be issued for participation of 79% or less.

First Week :

What is writing, why do I want to write?

What should a children's book be like?

What should we pay attention to in children's stories?

Philosophy for Children (P4C)

The place and achievements of P4C in children's stories

Writing exercises (The best learning happens by doing)

Second week:
Creating characters in children's stories

Ensuring the integrity of place, time, place and character in children's stories

What are the types of narrators?

Facilitator – Writer – Narrator

Stimulus, learning pit, investigation, Concept map

Third week:
What is reaching the whole, why is it important?

Children's stories by age groups

Completing a draft story

Fourth week:
What should we do if we experience writer's block?

The Process of Education:

• The training will be broadcast live simultaneously over the Internet.
• In order to participate in the training, you must have internet access and a suitable internet package in your current environment.
• In order for the educational system to be used,camera and microphone equipment have been introduced, a device that can connect to the Internet(smartphone, tablet and preferably computer) is needed.
• Participants will log in to the system with their cameras and microphones turned on together with our instructor who provides the training during the specified lesson hours.
• User names and passwords will be sent to the participants' e-mails before the training starts.
• After the trainings are completed, the system will be kept open for participants for another 7 days. By the end of the seventh day at 23:00, the system will be completely shut down.
• In order to help us during the training period, a whatsapp group will be created in the form of sending messages only to the administrator, and all kinds of support information will be shared by the administrator during the lesson period. Participants have all kinds of questions and problems usem@uludag.edu.tr they can write to our address. The mail will be followed up instantly during the training.

Important Information:

• Certificates are issued for participation of 80% and above of the total training period. for participation of 79% and below, no documents will be issued. 
• After the completion of the training period, certificates will be issued after the controls belonging to our institution and will be sent to the addresses you entered at the time of registration with PTT Cargo. Your address and contact information must be up-to-date.
• Participants have all kinds of questions and problems usem@uludag.edu.tr they can write to our address. The mail will be followed up instantly during the training.
• Application for education and paying the tuition fee are made via the Internet. Installment payments cannot be paid on the participants' bank credit cards.
