Psychological Resilience Training

Objectives:

  • Helping parents strengthen their own psychological resilience
  • Supporting children in coping with stress, challenges, and failure
  • Creating a safe, supportive, and resilient environment within the family

By the end of the training, parents will:

  • Be able to correctly recognize their children's struggles
  • Display a supportive attitude instead of panic
  • View mistakes and failure as opportunities for growth
  • Be able to create a psychologically safe environment at home

1. What is Psychological Resilience?

Goal: Conceptual awareness

Content:

  • Definition of psychological resilience
  • Resilience ≠ never being challenged
  • Why do children face challenges? (school, peers, exams, change)
  • The role of resilience in child development
  • Key characteristics of resilient children

Activity: Sharing a "difficult moment" (optional, brief)

2. Stress and Emotional Reactions in Children

Goal: Accurately interpreting a child's reactions

Content:

  • Signs of stress in children
  • Stress responses by age
  • The emotion behind the behavior
  • "Problem behavior" or "a child in distress"?
  • Common but incorrect parental responses

Activity: Case study evaluations

3. Secure Attachment and Resilience

Goal: Raising awareness of parenting attitudes

Content:

  • What is secure attachment?
  • Overprotection – neglect – supportive attitude
  • What does it mean for a child to "feel safe"?
  • Setting boundaries and the relationship of trust
  • The importance of the "I'm here for you" message

Activity: "What kind of parent am I?" self-assessment

4. Making Mistakes, Failure, and Perseverance

Goal: Turning failure into an opportunity

Content:

  • The developmental value of making mistakes
  • How children cope with failure
  • How to approach a child who says "I can't"
  • Patience, perseverance, and flexibility
  • Parental performance pressure

Activity: Incorrect parental phrases – correct alternatives

5. Problem-Solving and Coping Skills

Goal: Teaching skills to children

Content:

  • Consequences of solving problems on behalf of the child
  • Involving the child in the process
  • Offering options and giving responsibility
  • Ways to cope with emotions
  • The importance of small steps

Activity: "Problem-solving steps" exercise to apply at home

6. Being a Parent During Crisis Times

Goal: Staying calm during difficult times

Content:

  • Family crises (loss, divorce, relocation, exams, illness)
  • Explaining difficult situations to children
  • Suppressing or regulating emotions?
  • Managing one's own emotions as a parent

Activity: "What would I do in this situation?" scenario exercise

7. Parental Psychological Resilience

Goal: Strengthening the parent first

Content:

  • Parental burnout
  • Feelings of guilt and inadequacy
  • Self-compassion
  • The importance of seeking support
  • Being a role model

Activity: "My sources of resilience" exercise

8. Family Culture that Strengthens Resilience at Home

Goal: Sustainable gain

Content:

  • Family communication language
  • Routines and sense of security
  • Home environment where emotions can be discussed
  • Strong family messages
  • Small practices in daily life

Activity: Creating a "Family Resilience Agreement"

The training is open to corporate cooperation (institution/company legal entities) and individual applications are not accepted. The training content can be re-planned according to the corporate participant profile and needs. After mutual discussions, the scope and method of the training (Face-to-Face, Online) are determined and the relevant processes are completed.
