Psychological Resilience Training

Goals:

  • Strengthen parents' psychological resilience
  • Support children's ability to cope with stress, challenges, and failure
  • Create a safe, supportive, and flexible environment within the family

By the end of the training, parents will be able to:

  • Recognize their children's difficulties accurately
  • Show a supportive attitude instead of panic
  • View mistakes and failures as developmental opportunities
  • Create a psychologically safe environment at home

1. What is Psychological Resilience?

Goal: Conceptual awareness

Content:

  • Definition of psychological resilience
  • Resilience ≠ never being challenged
  • Why do children face challenges? (school, peers, exams, changes)
  • The role of resilience in child development
  • Key characteristics of resilient children

Activity: Sharing a “challenging moment” (optional, brief)

2. Stress and Emotional Reactions in Children

Goal: Accurately reading the child's reactions

Content:

  • Signs of stress in children
  • Age-related stress responses
  • The emotion behind the behavior
  • Is it a “problem behavior” or a “stressed child”?
  • Common but incorrect parental reactions

Activity: Evaluation through case studies

3. Secure Attachment and Resilience

Goal: Awareness of parenting attitudes

Content:

  • What is secure attachment?
  • Overprotection – neglect – supportive attitude
  • What does it mean for a child to feel “safe”?
  • Setting boundaries and the relationship of trust
  • The importance of the message “I am here for you”

Activity: Self-assessment: “What kind of parent am I?”

4. Making Mistakes, Failure, and Perseverance

Goal: Turning failure into an opportunity

Content:

  • The developmental value of making mistakes
  • How children cope with failure
  • Approaching a child who says, “I can't do it”
  • Patience, persistence, and flexibility
  • The pressure of performance from parents

Activity: Incorrect parental statements – correct alternatives

5. Problem-Solving and Coping Skills

Goal: Teaching children skills

Content:

  • Consequences of solving the problem for the child
  • Involving the child in the process
  • Offering choices and giving responsibility
  • Ways to cope with emotions
  • The importance of small steps

Activity: “Problem-solving steps” exercise to apply at home

6. Parenting During Crisis Periods

Goal: Staying calm in difficult times

Content:

  • Family crises (loss, divorce, relocation, exams, illness)
  • Explaining difficult situations to the child
  • Suppressing or regulating emotions?
  • Recognizing what we are capable of handling

Activity: Writing down a crisis moment and proposing solutions

This training is open for corporate collaborations (for institutions/companies as legal entities), and individual applications are not accepted. The content of the training can be redesigned based on the corporate participant profile and needs. After mutual discussions, the scope and method of the training (In-person, Online) will be determined, and the related processes will be completed.
