Duration: 5 Days (2 Hours per Day) – Total: 10 Hours

Target Audience

  • Beginners in aquarium hobby,
  • Those who want to improve their existing aquarium setup,
  • Petshop employees,

Prerequisites

  • Interest in freshwater aquarium hobby,
  • There are no prerequisites to attend this program.

Curriculum Topics

Day 1: Setup and Basic Chemistry

  • Correct tank selection and nitrogen cycle,
  • Types of aquariums and size selection,
  • Importance of nitrogen cycle and biological filter,
  • Filtration systems (internal/external/sump) and heater selection,

Day 2: Aquarium Setup and Water Quality

  • Setup steps and water parameters,
  • Step-by-step aquarium setup and "cycling",
  • Water hardness, pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate (basic water tests),
  • Use of aquarium salt and water conditioners,

Day 3: Fish Species and Feeding

  • Compatible species selection and balanced diet,
  • Popular species and their compatibility,
  • Fish population calculation,
  • Nutrition values and types of fish food,
  • Dangers of overfeeding and correct portions,

Day 4: Maintenance Routines and Plants

  • Weekly/monthly maintenance routines,
  • Water change frequency and ratio (siphoning technique),
  • Filter cleaning and preserving beneficial bacteria colonies,
  • Basic needs of aquarium plants (light, CO2, fertilizer),
  • Algae types and control methods,

Day 5: Common Diseases and Prevention

  • Disease diagnosis and quarantine,
  • Most common diseases: Ich, fungal infections, fin rot,
  • Importance of quarantine tank setup,
  • Diseases caused by stress and water quality (preventive measures),

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the nitrogen cycle to create a healthy biological environment for fish.
  • Comprehend key chemical parameters of aquarium water and apply correct maintenance routines.
  • Select compatible and healthy fish species, and feed them properly and balanced.
  • Detect common fish diseases early and take necessary preventive measures.
  • Participants who attend at least 79% of the course will receive a university-approved participation certificate.

This training is open to corporate collaboration (institution/company packages) and individual applications are not accepted. Training content can be reorganized according to the profile and needs of corporate participants. Through mutual agreement, the scope and method (Face-to-Face, Online) of the training are determined and the relevant processes are completed. Once agreed, the schedule and location of the training with your participants and our instructors will be set.
