What is Mediation Renewal Training?

Mediation Renewal Training is a mandatory program organized by the Ministry of Justice for registered mediators to update their professional knowledge, follow legislative changes, and maintain their practical competencies.

Through this training, mediators can perform their duties in accordance with current legislation and practices.

Who is Required to Attend?

According to the regulations, all mediators registered in the Ministry of Justice Mediator Registry must participate in renewal training.

Specifically:

  • Active mediators currently performing duties,
  • Those registered in the registry who have not handled mediation cases for a long time must also attend the renewal training.

In other words, every registered mediator must complete the training within the specified period.

When Should the Renewal Training Be Taken?

According to the Mediation Regulation in Criminal Procedure:

  • Mediators are required to attend renewal training every 2 years.
  • The duration of the training is set at at least 8 class hours.

Important Points:

  1. The renewal training must be completed before the training period expires; otherwise, the mediator’s registration may be suspended.
  2. If there are new changes in legislation or practice, additional update trainings may also become mandatory.

Therefore, mediators should complete their training on time according to the period specified by the regulation.

Why is Renewal Training Important?

The mediation process is sensitive and requires expertise. Renewal training helps:

  • Keep up with legislative and regulatory changes,
  • Learn new practical techniques,
  • Reinforce ethical rules and professional responsibilities,
