Procedures and Principles Regarding the Provision of Expert Witness Services by Private Law Legal Entities

The Procedures and Principles Regarding the Provision of Expert Witness Services by Private Law Legal Entities constitute an important framework regulating expert witnessing activities in Türkiye. This regulation both enhances the quality of expert support in judicial processes and enables legal entities to serve effectively and in accordance with the law.

Categories

 In Article 6, paragraph two, subparagraph (ı) of the Expert Witness Law No. 6754 dated 3/11/2016, "To determine the qualifications required for private law legal entities that will provide services as expert witnesses and for individuals who will work as expert witnesses within these legal entities," and in subparagraph (i), "To determine the basic and sub-specialization areas and jurisdictional areas of private law legal entities that will provide services as expert witnesses" are listed among the duties of the Department of Expert Witnessing. Furthermore, in Article 8, paragraph one, subparagraph (e) of the Law, "To grant permission for private law legal entities to engage in expert witnessing activities, to cancel their permissions, and to audit their activities and reports related to expert witnessing" is included among the duties of the regional boards of expert witnessing.
      In accordance with the aforementioned provisions, our Department has determined the qualifications required for private law legal entities that will provide expert witnessing services and the individuals who will work as expert witnesses within these entities, as well as the procedures and principles regarding their registration in the registry and list.
