16-Hour Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Basic Training Information for Interns
Legal Basis:
According to the "Regulation on Procedures and Principles for Occupational Health and Safety Training of Employees," published in the Official Gazette No. 28648 on May 15, 2013, employees are required to take Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training according to the hazard classes of their workplaces, for varying durations.
Training and Certification Process
Upon 100% completion of the training, a Participation Certificate is registered in the e-Government system.
Legal Regulation and Distance Education Principle
According to Article 12 of the relevant regulation:
"Except for the initial basic training to be given at the workplace, subsequent basic training may be given using the distance education method, provided that the employer prepares content specific to the job and workplace and ensures the necessary distance education management system."
Who Can Participate?
- Intern students who will work in high-risk sectors (e.g., Healthcare, Automotive Industry, etc.)
Interactive Distance Education – Renewal Program
With the distance OHS training method, employees can complete their renewal training through interactive educational presentations. Comprehensive training materials, prepared according to hazard classes, are available in the distance learning system.
Training Duration and Regulations According to Hazard Class
According to Article 11 of the Regulation, the basic training durations to be given to employees are:
- Very high-risk workplaces: At least 16 hours
The organized training program is prepared for very high-risk workplaces and contains a 16-hour content.
Training Topics and Continuity
The training includes topics such as occupational health and safety regulations, risk factors, emergency management, personal protective equipment, accident prevention, and employee rights and responsibilities.
Repetition periods:
- Very high-risk class: At least once a year
Distance Education Usage Guidelines
This training program is prepared in accordance with the provisions of the relevant regulation. Basic OHS training is presented in interactive online packages, which are up-to-date with legal regulations and specific to the sector.

Training Process
The training takes place asynchronously online. Participants can access the training through the portal using devices with internet access. Username and password will be sent via email. Participation is mandatory. Certificates will be given to those who score 70 or above on the exam. The training must be completed within 30 days.
Important Information
- The certificate will be reflected in the e-Government system approximately one week after the completion of the training.

Note: In the case that participants cannot attend the training due to a valid reason and request cancellation, the refund process may take about 1 month due to the revolving fund procedures. Please take this into consideration before completing your registration.
