Training Objective

The regulations outlined in the European Union Green Deal will be implemented, and the new strategies in the agriculture and food sector regarding climate change adaptation will be discussed. Additionally, the steps to be followed in the preparation and adaptation process, as well as what the sector should do against the risks awaiting, will be debated.

This intensive program will help participants develop fundamental business strategies and processes, enabling them to establish or expand a successful agricultural and food enterprise.

Target Audience

Stakeholders in the agriculture and food sector, undergraduate and graduate students, and anyone interested in and seeking knowledge about sustainable agricultural production.

Module 1: Sustainable Development Goals, Paris Climate Agreement, European Union Green Deal, and Sectoral Impacts

• The process of bringing sustainability to the world agenda.
• Content of sustainable development goals and indicators.
• Developments related to the climate crisis and adaptation process, agreements made, agreement provisions, the European Green Deal and its components, border carbon adjustment mechanisms, and sectoral impacts.

Module 2: Agricultural and Food Sector within the Scope of Sustainability Worldwide and in Turkey

• The concept of sustainable agriculture, definition, principles, and goals.
• Examples of sustainable agriculture applications.
• Development and examples of sustainable agriculture worldwide.
• Development and examples of sustainable agriculture in Turkey.
