The Maritime Communication and Watchkeeping Standards Training Program equips participants with the skills needed for safe communication and compliance with international watchkeeping rules at sea. It aims to promote responsibility and professionalism among crew members.

 

The training is for professional development purposes, and the certificate obtained does not replace the MYK authorization certificate in trainings where the MYK authorization certificate is mandatory.

  • Radio and Emergency Communication Systems

    • GMDSS structure and components

    • Usage of DSC, VHF, MF/HF radios

    • Emergency codes and distress procedures

  • International Communication Standards

    • IMO and ITU regulations

    • Standard Marine Communication Phrases (SMCP)

    • Duties of a certified radio operator

  • Watchkeeping Standards and Implementation

    • STCW regulations

    • Bridge and engine room watch duties

    • Fatigue management and alertness

  • Incident Management and Reporting

    • Communication protocols during emergencies (fire, MOB, collision)

    • Watchkeeping event reporting

    • Logbook and official documentation

 

The training is open to corporate partnerships (institution/company legal entities) and individual applications are not accepted. The training content can be re-planned according to the corporate participant profile and your needs. After mutual discussions, the scope and method of the training (In-person, Online) will be determined, and the relevant processes will be completed. If an agreement is reached, suitable dates and times for your institution’s participants and our instructors will be set, along with the location of the training.
