Training Method: Online

Training Date: To be scheduled upon reaching the minimum number of pre-registrations.

Training Hours: To be scheduled upon reaching the minimum number of pre-registrations.

Training Duration: 12 hours (4 Days)

Number of Participants: The course will be held with a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 30 participants.
(If fewer than 15 participants register, the course will not be held, and fees will be refunded. For more than 30 participants, additional groups will be created based on registration priority.)

Training Fee: 3,250 TL (including 10% VAT)

Target Audience:

  • Expert witnesses

  • All stakeholders involved in agricultural production

Purpose of the Training:
The main goal of this training is to create scientific and practical awareness among participants about the effects of climate change on horticultural production. It also aims to provide knowledge and motivation to assess climate risks at the local level and implement solution-oriented horticultural practices.

Important:
This training is designed to enhance professional development and technical knowledge for individuals who meet the qualifications announced by the Directorate of Expert Witness Department, with at least 5 years of professional experience in their field, as required in the Basic Expert Witness criteria.
The certificate obtained at the end of this training cannot be used as proof of 5 years of professional experience in the field.

Expert Witness Subspecialty Qualifications

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will:

  • Understand the concept of climate change from ecological and agricultural perspectives,

  • Learn the physiological and morphological responses of horticultural plants,

  • Gain knowledge of innovative approaches to plant adaptation and water management,

  • Develop the ability to plan sustainable and climate-sensitive production systems.

Training Content:

Day 1:

  • The concept of climate change

  • Definitions of global warming, greenhouse gases, and climate change

  • Carbon cycle and atmospheric composition

  • Anthropogenic (human-induced) effects

  • Natural climate variability (volcanic activity, solar cycles)

  • Historical climate data and examples of change

Day 2:

  • Effects of climate change on plant production

  • Impacts on temperature increase and water cycle

  • Effects on photosynthesis, flowering, and fruit development

  • Yield reduction and deterioration in product quality

  • Changes in nutritional value and quality

  • Notable scientific studies and projections

  • Search for alternative crops

  • New agricultural strategies requiring adaptation

  • Risks and opportunities in new species adaptation

Day 3:

  • New approaches in production planning

  • Selection of local and climate-resistant species

  • Sustainable production models

  • Examples of climate-adapted crops

  • Increasing input costs (irrigation, pesticide, fertilizer)

  • Crop losses and income reduction

Day 4:

  • Policy, Society, and Future Outlook

  • Sustainable development goals

  • Agricultural support programs promoting sustainable farming

  • Community-based initiatives and volunteer work

  • Future trends in climate-sensitive horticulture

  • A Certificate of Participation will be issued to those who attend at least 80% of the total training hours.

  • Certificates will be sent via PTT Cargo after verification.
