The Structural Repair and Strengthening Training equips participants with the technical knowledge and practical skills required to enhance the safety and durability of structures. By training experts capable of developing solutions against earthquakes and various structural risks, the program offers significant career opportunities in construction and building inspection sectors. Specializing in this field enables participants to take an active role in creating sustainable and safe buildings.

This training is designed for professional development purposes, and the certificate obtained does not substitute the MYK qualification certificate in programs where such certification is mandatory.

Introduction to Structural Repair and Strengthening
Basic concepts: damage, strength, deformation. Determining the need for repair and strengthening.

Types and Causes of Structural Damage
Damage mechanisms in reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures; effects of earthquakes, soil movement, and material degradation.

Structural Condition Assessment and Reporting Techniques
Visual inspection and testing methods — concrete strength tests, core sampling, and rebar detection.

Traditional and Modern Repair Methods
Crack injection, surface coating, material replacement, and reinforcement techniques.

Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Structures
Jacketing, concrete encasement, carbon fiber, and fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) applications.

Strengthening of Steel Structures
Reinforcement using steel plates and connectors, welding, and bolted joint techniques.

Strengthening of Masonry and Historical Structures
Grouting, steel tie and anchorage systems, and principles of protection and restoration.

Soil Improvement and Foundation Strengthening Techniques
Jet grouting, mini piles, injection systems, and sub-foundation reinforcement.

Regulations and Codes in Structural Strengthening
Overview of the Turkish Building Earthquake Code (TBDY), legal and technical responsibilities in strengthening projects.
