Day 1: Sustainable Development Goals, Paris Climate Agreement, EU Green Deal and Sectoral Impacts (2 hours/20:00-22:00)

Content:
-Process of bringing sustainability to the global agenda
-Content of sustainable development goals and indicators
-Developments worldwide regarding climate crisis and adaptation, agreements, provisions, EU Green Deal and its components, carbon border adjustment mechanism and sectoral impacts

Day 2: Agriculture and Food Sector Sustainability Worldwide and in Turkey (2 hours/20:00-22:00)
Content:
-Concepts, principles, and goals of sustainable agriculture
-Examples of sustainable agriculture applications

Day 3: Agriculture and Food Sustainability Worldwide and in Turkey
Content:
-Global development and examples of sustainable agriculture
-Development and examples of sustainable agriculture in Turkey

Day 4: Sustainability in Crop Production (3 hours/19:30-22:30)
Content:
-This module will be evaluated under two main headings: Horticultural Crops and Field Crops.

Horticultural Crops
-Importance of horticultural crops (vegetables and fruits) in human nutrition
-Possible impacts of climate change on horticultural crop production
-Correct and efficient use of agricultural inputs in horticulture
-Conservation of genetic resources in horticultural crops

Day 5: Sustainability in Crop Production (3 hours/19:30-22:30)

-Cultural practices for sustainable production
-Improving quality, productivity, and sustainability of fruits and vegetables
-Value chain in sustainable horticultural production (pre-harvest, harvest, post-harvest practices)

Day 6: Sustainability in Crop Production (3 hours/19:30-22:30)

Field Crops
-Importance of field crops for human and animal nutrition
-Possible effects of climate change on field crop production
-Correct and efficient use of agricultural inputs and conservation of natural resources in field crops
-Ways to improve product quality and yield and ensure sustainability
-Importance and usage areas of medicinal and aromatic plants
-Impact of climate change on production and quality of medicinal and aromatic plants
-Harvesting from nature and sustainability
-Principles of sustainable cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants

Day 7: Sustainability in Crop Production (3 hours/19:30-22:30)

-Importance and usage of medicinal and aromatic plants
-Impact of climate change on production and quality
-Harvesting from nature and sustainability

Day 8: Sustainability in Animal Production (3 hours/19:30-22:30)

-Importance of farm animals in nutrition
-Role of intensive and extensive farming systems in future animal production
-Effects of climate change on animal production and adaptation strategies
-Animal production and carbon footprint

Day 9: Sustainability in Animal Production (3 hours/19:30-22:30)

-Integration of livestock activities into environment and society (biodiversity and ecosystem conservation)
-Animal welfare and biosecurity
-Socio-economic aspects (job opportunities, traditional products, viable markets)
-Animal-based foods, sustainability, and responsible consumption
-Shaping the future of livestock

Day 10: Sustainable Food Production Systems (3 hours/19:30-22:30)

-Concept of sustainable food production
-Food safety, security, and quality
-Sustainability in food supply chains
-Developing global and applicable approaches to combat climate change
-Food waste management process

Day 11: Sustainable Soil Management (2 hours/20:00-22:00)
Content:
-Definitions and concepts related to sustainable soil management, soil health and importance
-UN Sustainable Development Goals and soil
-Principles of sustainable soil management
-Challenges in achieving sustainable soil management

Day 12: Sustainable Soil Management (2 hours/20:00-22:00)
Content:
-Establishment and importance of soil information systems
-Soil education for integrated soil management
-Investment in sustainable soil management and inclusive policy governance
-Agro-approaches promoting sustainable soil management
-Efficient fertilizer use in sustainable agriculture

Day 13: Irrigation Scheduling and Water-Saving Irrigation Methods (3 hours/19:30-22:30)

Day 14: Sustainable Pest Management in Agriculture (3 hours/19:30-22:30)

Day 16: Planning and Financial Challenges in Sustainable Farming Systems (2 hours/20:00-22:00)

-Planning requirements at enterprise level
-Relationship between sustainable farming systems and planning
-Financial needs of sustainable farming systems
-Tools to address financial needs

Day 17: Ecological-Based Planning for Sustainable Landscapes (2 hours/20:00-22:00)
Content:
-Explanation of landscape, urban and rural areas, ecology, landscape ecology, ecosystem, etc., in relation to sustainability
-Definition of planning hierarchy, landscape planning, ecological planning, ecological-based planning in landscapes, landscape inventory, and landscape elements
-Issues arising from climate change and pressures due to intensive land use
-Discussion of solutions for sustainable urban and rural landscapes through ecological-based planning

The training is open for corporate collaboration (institution/company package) and individual applications are not accepted. Training content can be re-planned according to corporate participant profiles and needs. Based on mutual discussions, the scope and method of training (Face-to-Face, Online) are determined and relevant processes are completed. Upon agreement, suitable dates and times with participants and instructors are scheduled, and the location of the training is determined.
