Prerequisites

  • Basic awareness of animal care and willingness to learn

Curriculum Topics

Day 1: The Art of Proper Nutrition

  • Physiological differences of cats and dogs
  • Nutrition and food selection by life stage (puppy/kitten, adult, senior)
  • Pros and cons of dry/wet food and homemade meals
  • Reading labels: How to recognize a “good” pet food?

Day 2: Basic Health and Hygiene

  • Routine care and preventive veterinary practices
  • Basic hygiene (eyes, ears, nails, brushing teeth)
  • Vaccination schedule and its importance
  • Internal/external parasite control and proper product selection

Day 3: Behavior and Welfare

  • Basic needs and environmental enrichment
  • Potty training, socialization period
  • Stress signs and management (scratching in cats, barking in dogs)
  • Impact of neutering on health and behavior

Day 4: Most Common Diseases

  • Early diagnosis and correct evaluation of clinical signs
  • Emergencies: poisoning, traffic accidents, falls from heights
  • Common digestive problems (diarrhea, vomiting) and skin issues
  • When should we consider contacting a veterinarian?

Day 5: Practical First Aid

  • Life-saving basic interventions
  • Handling minor injuries: stopping bleeding, bandaging

Learning Outcomes

  • Design a balanced diet program suitable for the pet’s life stage
  • Understand preventive veterinary care and apply basic hygiene routines
  • Recognize early signs of stress or illness in their pets
  • Perform life-saving interventions in minor emergencies such as small cuts or choking
  • Receive a university-approved certificate if attending at least 79% of the course

The training is open to institutional collaborations (package for institution/company legal entities), and individual applications are not accepted. The training content can be reorganized according to your institutional participant profile and needs. As a result of mutual discussions, the scope and method of the training (face-to-face / online) are determined and the relevant processes are completed. In case of mutual agreement, the date, time, and location of the training are planned in line with the availability of your institution’s participants and our instructors.
