What is the Border Carbon Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)?

The Border Carbon Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is a system developed to monitor and reduce carbon emissions from high-emission industries. This program is an important tool for integrating carbon pricing systems and achieving the EU's goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.

  • The goal of carbon neutrality by 2050 and how CBAM contributes to achieving these goals.
  • 4. CBAM Application Areas and Sectors
  • Application Areas: The sectors and products where CBAM applies (steel, aluminum, fertilizers, electricity, etc.).
  • Sector-Specific Emissions: The situation in sectors with the highest carbon emissions and how these sectors will be affected by CBAM.
  • Global Applications: Carbon regulations in countries outside the EU and the potential impacts of CBAM on international trade.
  • 5. CBAM Implementation Process
  • Border Carbon Tax Implementation: How the border carbon tax will be applied to firms inside and outside the EU.
  • Carbon Monitoring and Reporting: Monitoring carbon emissions and the regular reporting obligations.
  • Carbon Certificate and Application Procedures: The process of obtaining carbon certificates and the procedures to follow in CBAM applications.

The training is open to institutional collaborations (package for institution/company legal entities), and individual applications are not accepted. The training content can be reorganized according to your institutional participant profile and needs. As a result of mutual discussions, the scope and method of the training (face-to-face / online) are determined and the relevant processes are completed. In case of mutual agreement, the date, time, and location of the training are planned in line with the availability of your institution’s participants and our instructors.
