Carbon Management and Carbon Exchange check out our education.

The training is for professional development purposes, and the certificate received does not replace the MYK certificate required for certain trainings.

1. Introduction to Life Cycle Assessment

  • What is Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)?

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is an analysis method that evaluates the environmental impacts of a product or service throughout its entire life cycle. This analysis covers the stages of production, transportation, use, and disposal.

  • Basic Principles and Goals of LCA:

LCA aims to enhance environmental sustainability, use resources efficiently, and reduce the carbon footprint. It is also used to identify environmental impacts and compare alternatives.

2. LCA Method and Stages

  • Key Stages of LCA:
  • Goal and Scope Definition: The first stage of the LCA process involves defining the goals of the analysis and determining which life cycle stages will be analyzed.
  • Inventory Analysis: This stage involves collecting data on energy, water, and raw material use throughout the product's life cycle.
  • Impact Assessment: Here, environmental impacts are analyzed, and the environmental effect of each life cycle stage is assessed.
  • Interpretation of Results: Based on the findings, conclusions about the product's environmental performance are drawn.

3. Life Cycle Assessment Tools and Software

  • LCA Software and Tools: An overview of software used for Life Cycle Assessment. These software tools collect and analyze data needed to calculate environmental impacts.
  • Using LCA Software: Basic functions and usage methods of LCA software. Example applications using popular software such as SimaPro, GaBi, OpenLCA.

4. Integration with Life Cycle Costing (LCC)

  • LCC (Life Cycle Costing) and LCA: Life Cycle Costing (LCC) is an analysis method used to calculate the costs of a product or service over its entire life cycle. Integration with LCA enables the evaluation of both environmental and economic factors together.
  • Comparison of LCC and LCA: Comparing environmental impact and cost to develop more sustainable and economical solutions.

5. Applications of Life Cycle Assessment in the Industry

  • Industrial Applications: The use of Life Cycle Assessment in the industrial field, examples of product design, sustainable production, and supply chain management.
  • Policy and Legal Regulations: The contribution of Life Cycle Assessment to environmental policy development and legal regulations.

6. Life Cycle Assessment Reporting and Certification

  • LCA Reporting Process: Reporting the results of Life Cycle Assessment, presenting environmental impact categories, and sharing the results transparently.
  • Certification and Standards: The reporting and certification process in accordance with international life cycle assessment standards such as ISO 14044 and ISO 14040.

This training is open for corporate collaboration (institution/company packages), and individual applications are not accepted. The training content can be restructured based on the profile of corporate participants and their needs. After mutual discussions, the scope and method of the training (in-person, online) will be determined, and the relevant processes will be completed. Once an agreement is reached, suitable days and times for your institution’s participants and our instructors will be scheduled, and the location of the training will be determined.
