The Forest Entomology Training Program provides comprehensive education on identifying harmful insects in forest ecosystems, biological control methods, and forest health preservation. Participants gain in-depth knowledge of forest entomology.

 

The training is for professional development purposes and is provided by the Vocational School. The certificate obtained does not replace the MYK authorization certificate in training that requires it.

 

  1. Introduction to Forest Entomology:

    • Definition and importance of forest entomology.

    • The role and functions of insects in forest ecosystems.

    • Classification and characteristics of forest insects.

    • Insect diversity in forest ecosystems.

  2. Harmful Forest Insects and Their Effects:

    • Forest pests: their species, biology, and damage.

    • The effects of forest pests on forest ecosystems.

    • Insect damage to forest plants and diseases.

    • Identifying pests and early detection methods.

  3. Biological Control Methods:

    • Biological control of harmful insects.

    • Natural predators and biological balance.

    • Pheromone traps and other biological control techniques.

    • Entomological biological control strategies.

  4. Chemical Control and Integrated Pest Management (IPM):

    • Chemical control: uses, advantages, and risks.

    • Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies and techniques.

    • Environmentally friendly pesticide usage.

    • Organic pesticides and eco-friendly alternatives for pests.

  5. Forest Health and Protection Methods:

    • Insect diseases threatening forest ecosystem health.

    • Integrated management of forest diseases and pests.

    • Sustainable management of forest ecosystems.

    • Methods for preserving biodiversity in forests.

  6. Advanced Forest Entomology:

    • Advanced techniques for controlling forest pests.

    • The use of genetic engineering and biotechnology.

    • New research and developments in forest entomology.

    • Pest control applications in forest ecosystems.

 

The training is open to corporate partnerships (institution/company legal entities) and individual applications are not accepted. The training content can be re-planned according to the corporate participant profile and your needs. After mutual discussions, the scope and method of the training (In-person, Online) will be determined, and the relevant processes will be completed. If an agreement is reached, suitable dates and times for your institution’s participants and our instructors will be set, along with the location of the training.
