This training is for professional development purposes, and the certificate obtained does not replace the MYK certification in MYK-mandatory training.

The Forest Entomology Training Program provides comprehensive education on the identification of harmful insects in forest ecosystems, biological control methods, and the protection of forest health. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of forest entomology.

Fundamentals of Forest Entomology

  • The role and function of insects in forest ecosystems.

  • Classification and characteristics of forest insects.

  • Insect diversity in forest ecosystems.

Harmful Forest Insects and Their Effects

  • Forest pests: species, biology, and damages.

  • Effects of forest pests on forest ecosystems.

  • Damages and diseases caused by insects to forest plants.

  • Damage identification and early detection methods.

Biological Control Methods

  • Biological control of harmful insects.

  • Natural enemies and biological balance.

  • Pheromone traps and other biological control techniques.

  • Entomological biological control strategies.

Chemical Control and Integrated Pest Management Methods

  • Chemical control: areas of use, advantages, and risks.

  • Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy and application techniques.

  • Use of environmentally friendly pesticides.

  • Farm chemicals and eco-friendly alternatives to pests.

Forest Health and Protection Methods

The training is open to corporate cooperation (package for legal entities), and individual applications are not accepted. The training content can be restructured according to the corporate participant profile and needs. After mutual discussions, the scope and method (In-person, Online) of the training will be determined, and related processes will be completed. Once an agreement is reached, suitable dates and the location for the training with the instructors will be determined with your institution’s participants.
