Training Objective

The Pattern Making Techniques Training equips participants with the skills to create clothing patterns based on measurements and technical details. This enables the creation of a professional production infrastructure in fashion design and ready-made garment production.

  • What is a pattern? Its importance in clothing design and production, types of patterns, and basic terms.
  • Taking Body Measurements
  • Correct measurement techniques, creating a size chart, and measurement systems (standard and personal measurements).
  • Basic Pattern Making Methods
  • Drawing basic blocks (basic blocks), creating patterns for upper body, skirt, trousers, and sleeves.
  • Model Application Techniques
  • Developing models from basic patterns, shaping, and adding design details.
  • Computer-Aided Pattern Making (CAD)
  • Digital pattern drawing, editing, and modeling techniques using CAD programs.
  • Pattern Control and Correction
  • Symmetry, balance, line correction, and pre-fitting control methods in patterns.
  • Grading Techniques
  • Generating patterns for different sizes, balancing measurement deviations, and sizing variations.
  • Pattern Placement and Cutting Plan
  • Pattern placement techniques that improve fabric efficiency and planning before cutting.
  • Pattern Making for Industrial Production
  • Developing patterns suitable for mass production, production standardization, and technical drawing details.
  • Practical Exercises and Sample Projects
  • Pattern applications on real models, sample preparation, and the process of getting ready for production.

The training is open to institutional collaborations (package for institution/company legal entities), and individual applications are not accepted. The training content can be reorganized according to your institutional participant profile and needs. As a result of mutual discussions, the scope and method of the training (face-to-face / online) are determined and the relevant processes are completed. In case of mutual agreement, the date, time, and location of the training are planned in line with the availability of your institution’s participants and our instructors.
