Training Objective:

The Department of Expert Witness Affairs is expected to announce new listings for expert witnesses this year.
According to the official website, merit-based evaluation will be the main criterion in all sub-specialty areas.

The announcement specifies that:

“Regional boards, when evaluating applications for registry, first verify compliance with Article 10 of the Expert Witness Law. Among those meeting the criteria, they select the most qualified candidates by considering professional experience, in-service training, certifications of specialization, and academic or professional achievements.”

Therefore, individuals who demonstrate continuous professional development, specialized training, and academic or professional success within their expertise area will be prioritized for registration.

Important Note:

This training is designed for professionals who have at least 5 years of practical experience in their field and wish to enhance their professional knowledge in line with the criteria set by the Expert Witness Department.

The certificate awarded upon completion cannot be used as proof of the five-year experience requirement.

Participants will receive presentation slides and sample expert reports covering key topics in labor law and practice.

• Sources of labor law

• Scope of application by subject and location

• Fundamental concepts in labor law

2. Employment Contracts

• Types of employment contracts

• Legal capacity and obligations of parties

• Mandatory employment cases

• Rights and obligations of the employer and employee

3. Wages and Related Protections

• Wage types and protection measures

• Working hours and rest periods

• Overtime and calculation of overtime pay

• Weekly rest, public holidays, and payment calculations

4. Leaves and Termination

• Annual leave and calculation of annual leave pay

• Termination (with and without cause) and its legal results

5. Labor Compensations

• Seniority (Kıdem) and notice (İhbar) compensations

• Reinstatement lawsuits and specific calculations

• Bad faith and union-related compensation calculations

• Tax and AGI (minimum living allowance) calculations

6. Practical Applications

• Review of sample expert reports and case-based calculations

• Participants with 80% or higher attendance receive a Certificate of Participation.
